This policy explains how Opentech Consulting & Services ("OpenTech", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information in these apps:
- OpenTech Driver (
al.opentech.ride.driver) – for drivers who accept and complete ride requests. - OpenTech Ride (
al.opentech.ride.rider) – for riders who request rides. - OpenTech GPS (
al.opentech.gpsclient) – for fleet owners and managers who track their vehicles.
1. Information we collect
- Account information (all apps): name, phone number and/or email address, login credentials.
- Driver details (Driver app): vehicle type and plate number, and documents you provide for approval to work as a driver.
- Location data:
- Driver: precise location while you are online or on a trip, including when the app is in the background. Not collected while offline.
- Rider: precise location to set your pick-up point and to follow your ride on the map.
- OpenTech GPS: the location of tracked vehicles, reported by GPS devices installed in them, shown to the fleet's authorized users.
- Trip data: pick-up and drop-off points, route, distance, time, fare, ride status and ratings.
- Device information: device model, operating system version, app version and a push-notification token.
- Support communications: messages you send us.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage accounts and verify identity.
- To match riders with drivers, navigate trips, and calculate fares and arrival times.
- To show live location of the driver/vehicle to the relevant rider or fleet manager.
- To send ride requests and important service notifications.
- To keep the service safe, prevent fraud, handle emergencies (SOS) and resolve disputes.
- To maintain and improve the apps and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Background location
The Driver app uses location in the background only while you are online or on an active trip, so riders can see your approach and trips can be recorded accurately. You can stop this at any time by going offline or by turning off location permission in your device settings, but you will then not be able to receive rides.
4. Who we share information with
- Riders and drivers: during an active trip a rider sees the driver's first name, vehicle details and live location, and the driver sees the rider's name, pick-up/drop-off points and a contact number.
- Taxi companies and fleet managers: the company a driver works for can see that driver's profile, trips, earnings and live location while online. Companies see only their own data.
- Service providers that help us operate the service, such as hosting, mapping/routing and push-notification providers. They process data only on our instructions.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect safety and rights.
5. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Trip records may be kept as long as needed for accounting, legal and dispute purposes. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain it by law.
6. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access is restricted by role. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Your rights and account deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time. To delete your account and associated data, email us at the address below from your registered email, or contact us using the phone number on your account, with the subject "Delete my account" and the name of the app. We will process the request within 30 days.
8. Children
The apps are intended for adults aged 18 and over and are not directed at children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The latest version is always available at this page with its update date.
